Today is the big reveal of the upcoming F1 26 season pack for last year's F1 25 game. In this article, we will quickly go over what we know so far and what you should expect to get for your money.
The content
The reveal trailer goes live today at 4 PM UK time/8 AM PST, and we're expecting it to reveal the usual content changes and one or two new features. All of the current cars, tracks, drivers and teams will be brought bang up to date with the 2026 Formula 1 season. F2 content as well as the APXGP team.
What we would like to see
We would;d love it if the game featured the current power plant regulations in full. Meaning that the engine/electrics must behave exactly like the real thing and not a watered-down version as we've had previously. Le Mans Ultimate does a good job of implementing the Hypercar power plant correctly, and EA should do the same. If they cannot do it this year, then let's hope for the new game engine that we're expecting F1 27 to be built on, which can allow for this.

What we would also love to see is the ability to drive both the F1 25 and F1 26 seasons in a career mode. It would be so much more realistic, but we highly doubt that would happen.
The elephant in the room
We're not sure what the price is, but we're hoping that it's not going to be sold as a full-price game. We know that EA are experts at price gouging, so we won't put it past them to charge us stupid money for a DLC. We have written previously about our opinion on the F1 game series and suggested more than once that the game change to an annual DLC unless they release a brand new game engine.
If the 2026 DLC comes in at full price or close to it, then we suggest that you hold off on your purchase until the inevitable big price drop in a couple of months.
Final thoughts
We haven't been fond of the way EA has been handling the F1 series of games in terms of price increases, the same game-breaking bugs year in, year out, with the same game engine that's getting really long in the tooth.
We do however, see this new DLC as a small step in the right direction, but the price will determine if it's worth buying on release or if it will be something to add to the "wait for a super sale" list.
